Where and at what difficulty can I find them?

Suicide+, apparently by balloon/thumb/penis rock (All descriptions I've seen, no joke). I've yet to find it.

I found 3 of them at a rock with white veins flowing through it.. But it was luck cause I can’t seem to find it again

Apparently there’s a Stonehenge type structure that also has them lol

This is correct. It’s an odd looking rock sticking up from the ground, it’s different colored from normal rocks, kind of a silvery grey.

7 and above, and yes the lightbulb rock is correct, usually get a small handful around them, looked like floating liquid metal last time i saw them.

If you are playing suicide then you should eventually see it. It’s a big rock that’s silvery/grey and it kinda looks like a thumb. It has a somewhat skinny base with a rounded top.

difficulty 7+ it will be at a minor point of interest which ends up being a stalagmite with the super samples at the base of the rock.

They are always near high bug active areas in my experience

Tried but never got one from suicide, it really ruins the flow of progression in the same way very high medal cost for gear/cosmetic does. Really hope they can tweak this to make the rewards more frequent.

I got quite a few after posting this. It's just as they said, look for that special rock. I was also lucky to find a team that hunted for samples, and we got tons of them.
