The game is a Live Game which is why you only see some of the planets open. The invasions will push the lines forward & backward across space opening new worlds ans the community secures or loses ground in the overall war.
game seems to have online campaign-theme that each team effort matters towards a common goal - liberating the planet from xenos scums. you can see the % value of progress.
Anyway, i guess a refund is the best decision here. Kinda sad, because the game itself seems to be really good. But then we have this weird game design. I don't have anything against it, but please make it atleast optional...
Atm there's 4 distinct playable planet theme, 2 for each of the enemy faction. The rest of the planets with the desc of it being under our control is just gimmick ui. You aren't missing anything.
The game doesn't have a linear story or mission progression. it's a bunch of preset mission types mixed with some RNG in the map layout.
And the community order progress bar thing is just a fun stat for community goals that just give you some neat reward if we managed to pull it off. It won't ruin your experience whatsoever.
And yes, you can make private lobby without random joining in the setting. Set it from public to private.
