PSA: Change your stratagem input keys asap!!

Standing still while calling down stratagems sucks... Right? So, don't stand still.

By default the keyboard uses WSAD to both the movement and stratagem inputs , but, you can rebind the keys so that you can move while doing the stratagem inputs!

You can set them to the arrow keys, but personally I use RFGB, which yes was weird to get used to, but now I can move and use the mouse while calling in stratagems. Do whatever's comfortable to you.

This becomes almost mandatory to do in later difficulties Imo, since standing still for a few seconds can lead to a robot chainsawing your head off.


Also, you can change how the stratagem menu works so its no longer hold, you can set it to press to open so you don't need to hold the key. It's great if you rebind the key to something you can't hold down with your pinky.

I been thinking about binding it to 2456 so i can use the numpad on my mouse but i'll never be able to type with my thumb as fast as I can my left hand so i guess its a trade off. Probably worth experimenting with tho

I moved mine to the arrow keys. Doesnt help with the standing still bit, but a bit easier putting them in.

I wish you could properly bind the directions to the mouse but it tracks every single minute movement so it makes it near impossible to do

What do you mean? it did help, i'm using arrow key i can Press W and shift(toggle mode) to let it sprint forward and use ctrl + using arrow key to call stratagem while my character keep running.

I binded the codes on my mouse to the 2 main strategems I run against bugs. Works well. All I have go do is click ctrl then one button on my mouse and I have my preprogramed strategem.

how did you do that? cos i can only see the options for up, down, left and right on the stratagem part of key binds

After calling in hundreds of the same strat's it's second nature to me to do it in a second or two, but definitely could be helpful or people not as fast or something like that.
