I was exaggerating, though I thin kthat much was obvious. I will say however that I still believe it's larger than the flamethrower. They've hit me from quite a bit away regardless.
Running side to side does work, though, so problem.. kind of solved. if there isn't more than 2 or 3.
I find chargers easier to manage overall than I do spewers. 2 Chargers I can dodge, 2 spewers ... a bit harder. And considering their spawn rate is typically double or triple chargers, 2 chargers vs 4 spewers? Yeah, the answer is obvious.
Grenade launcher and Autocanon eat thoses on breakfirst with two body hit. So does hand grenades but you don't have as many and it's harder to refill.
Heavy machine gun and minigun turret shred them.
Railgun will kill them in one headshot or 2-3 body shots.
energy shield will gives you more leaway to survive getting spitted on by tanking the first hits of the acid stream. Also, acid don't do that much damage to energy shield, so you can actually almost tank a full volley. It won't protect you from them blowing up in your face though ( that's also true for small green spiting bugs and green soldiers insects. )
If you read the rest of the thread, you'll see that we've already spoken about this topic and that running to the side is the answer here. I'm going to mark my own comment as the 'answer' to this thread, because multiple people here have given me this advice and it was indeed the general strat to surviving them. Cheers to you all, fellow divers.
Edit: Wow I can't mark my own comment as answered, so hopefully this still serves as the thank you to all who suggested running.
