Anyone else having crap performance?
I'm just wondering due to my system specs.
I'm running with a 4090 and a ryzen 7900x and getting 60 to 70 fps when the action heaps up or for example when tanks or bio titans show up. Is this normal for everybody? Perhaps I should just lock my fps to 60 via Nvidia console for now.

Are the devs aware of any optimization issues? And are there perhaps plans for post launch optimization support for pc?

Graphic settings seem to do almost nothing to performance from the lowest to highest it was like 10fps difference the only thing that seemed to effect performance was going from native to quality setting.
but the game crashes like there's no tomorrow.

Yes they are aware and yes they will optimize the game further. Thats a given.

I solved all my issues by using the Lossless Scaling app on Steam. You can force Frame Generation in any game. You'll literally double your frames, and if your system struggles on low, you can turn stuff up AND still gain frames. It's quite amazing.

It's a good solve for now while they work on optimization.

Oh sweet! have they already made announcements or acknowledged it then?

They know AMD gpu are having issues. So I assume they also know people have performance issues. Tons of people are complaining about it.

Anyway, thats their last update: https://steamcommunity.com/app/553850/discussions/3/4206994256761522921/

Interesting, I'll give this a try. What did your fps look like during battles in game?

Barely changed. On ship I was able to hit my max refresh at 144. I turned stuff up and still had 144. In bigger fights on Challenging and up with breaches everywhere it dropped between 110-120, which is barely noticeable. It really changed the game for me.

There is a bit of a latency hit but it's not terrible. The smoothness of play and motion makes up for it. I'm still experimenting with settings to get the latency lower, but I'm pretty happy right now.

Edit: The game just looks better now, straight up. Especially the terrain. For some reason having terrain on High for me was tanking my performance. I can see all the details now and the deformations with clarity. Definitely turn off depth of field and turn up sharpness, it'll help a ton.

How does it work? Do I just leave the app running while in game?

Launch the game, launch LS. Be in borderless mode, turn on LSFG and activate. Should work. And yes, gotta leave LS on while playing.

it's super simple cap the fps to whats your FPS you mainly get with a 3rd party tool usually half of your monitor refresh rate so only helpfull is your monitor goes past 60fps then select the LSFG Frame Gen then hit the hot key to turn it on by the way the best upscaling for Lossless is LS1 but keep the sharpness all the way down & one more thing the only way you'l see your fps is the FSP Draw option in the program if you look in the forums for Lossless there's a guide on how to use it.
And Lossless can be used on every game out there and even vidoes you can watch like youtube and such or movies.
The Frame-gen can also be used to bypass the 60fps lock in game's such as Elden Ring.

It's basically just FSR3s Frame-gen but without the auto turn off thing when you turn to fast.

Ah yes I forgot, gotta cap your FPS to half your refresh rate.
Kitai Feb 10, 2024 @ 11:08pm
ps5 player here and my god when there over 500 bugs or robots the fps tends to drop to sub 30 around 26fps on a ps5, cant imagine how it drops on a mid to high end pc.
unless the performance youre talking about is a basic console port then its common for those to be poorly optimized on pc.
Sweet C Feb 10, 2024 @ 11:16pm
Yeah, the more enemies are on the map, the lower the fps gets. Need a real beefy CPU to keep a more consistent framerate.
Gilmore Feb 11, 2024 @ 1:32am
So I tried the Lossless Scaling app and it definitely gives somewhat of a fps boost, but it really gives a lot of bad latency. I don't know if that downside is worth it. Am I doing something wrong?
