Sounds like overheating.

The game has uncapped frame rates by default which quickly reveals cooling issues.

Thats a hardware issue.

Sounds like overheating. Try limit your game frame rates.

Overheating for sure ... First of all the game is really demanding, if you are trying to run on max settings . Use MSI or similiar program to check your hardware temps so you will know which component is the issue. Try to make more airflow in your pc , use some undervolting . Upgrade an old driver if necessary. Use vsync and limit your fps .
One of these could help ya, good luck.
Edit : if other games makes your pc turn off as well , you have a faulty hardware issue and you need to RMA it.

There is something wrong with the game. My game crashed at least 30 times today (Not even overexaggerating). And CPU temp reaches to 90 in the first few seconds of dropping. Never had a problem like this with any other game. Shame..

It's not necessarily an overheating issue. For me it's a powerdraw issue and it seems to be same for many others.

Thanks man I'll try that, it's only this game that's giving me problems, I'll try that, I feel like the game goes waay over on fps cap and makes the CPU to overheat shutting down the pc.

Watch your power draw and temps while the game is running. See what's spiking.

in your task manager you can check the heat of your gpu, launch the game and check if it goes above 80-90° it's usually at those temp that pc's shutdown to avoid damage to the hardware. you can also use something like msi afterburner to check your cpu's heat about the same threshold heat wise as the gpu for shutdown. to fix that, lower graphics, play lower res or my personal fav, ope your case and stick a fan in it, worked for my older build xD

One year later:

I see there are a lot of people that have this problem. This says that the PC shuts down but what a lot of people are complaining about is that the game shuts off their monitors. Oddly, arrowhead studios still doesn't have this as a known issue on their website. Although if you look around you will see that there are several people that experience this.

I have this problem and I am running an Nvidia 4070. Nothing appears to overheat. I've tried everything from limiting FPS to disabling V-sync to disconnecting one of my monitors. Since every reply to these types of posts seems to be somebody snorkeling telling the other person how to manage their computer I am an IT professional. I'm always willing to listen to ideas but at this point I've tried everything up until I decided to just uninstall this game. It's unplayable and frustrating for no apparent reason. It started about two or three weeks ago. At that point I already had almost 900 hours in game. :-)

I'd be curious to see if they ever figure this out but since it only occurs in this game I don't think I should have to do anything to my computer to make it work since it works for everything else. We can blame that on my hardware but if helldivers requires some special exclusive hardware set up to be able to work in comparison to any of the other games that I play, I'm not sure it's worth it. :-)
