Weapons need re-work
This game is very fun don't get me wrong but the weapon choices and lack of variety is baffling. As you progress into higher difficulties it becomes very obvious you REQUIRE anti tank. What options do we have for anti tank? A 1 shot rocket launcher that needs to be constantly called down and a recoiless rifle that takes forever to reload without a teammate being your reload b*tch. I did a difficulty 4 yesterday and at one point there were 4 chargers running around and one person had anti tank. Basically, it is REQUIRED that we spec into a strategem ONLY to take out one enemy in the entire game. I don't know about you but I don't enjoy having to be limited to a terrible 1 shot weapon because the enemy is literally invincible if you don't have explosives.

Uh.

There are a lot of options for anti-armor in this game.

Also, the point of Helldivers is to bring the tools you need to complete the mission. If the modifier says "HEAVILY ARMORED", then obviously you bring anti-armor bro.

The weapons are pretty fine. Shoot the tanks in one of their front legs with the AT equipment and they will die very quickly to regular fire once you peel off their armor.

A common mistake I'm seeing with a lot of players is they're not adjusting their drop equipment based on the mission they're dropping into. This is very important in Helldivers in general.

Before you drop, take a moment to say "Hey, we're going to run into a lot of heavy armor, we need to adjust our drop load." If you're hot dropping into a combat zone, snag Stratagems your team is lacking/could use more of to ensure mission success.

If folks don't learn this now, they're going to get eaten alive at Tier 5 and above. This is very basic fundamentals to Helldivers.

To be fair the AT thing is only a problem solo or with uncooperative players. Because if you have someone lugging around a heavy MG or something, he may as well carry a rocket pack too, and then with him attached you can fire very fast.

That 1 shot rocket launcher is actually pretty good. You carry one, and call down two more giving you 3 shots when you need it.

Also you can call in airstrikes and orbital bombardments, and that recoilless rifle ammo ♥♥♥♥♥ makes it into a rocket machine gun able to kill a charger in 5 sec or less.

Acquire the railgun, never fear armor again. 40 shots, 1 take off armor. Stops chargers in their tracks as well cause each hit stuns them.

I just beat level 7 difficulty operation all missions with only one other person, we didnt have any rocket launchers.

With the sheer number of armored enemies in game the Expendable Anti Tank stratagem should really just be part of our normal kit, that or the bugs receive some pretty heavy mobility nerfs because the Chargers move too quickly for how tanky they are making them more dangerous than the tank the robots have.

The issue is that if you join a game, there is basically no way to remotely tell what mission modifyer you will have.
The mission select screen and infiormation really need some love.


But agree with OP on the part that the game should have more weapon options.
Simply to have something to choose from.
I know the game just released but even on release a game should have more options to choose from.


Also iot would be great if we could customize our weapons at least visually.
That's where the devs should have invest with the microtransactions.

Yeah, uh, I 95% don't believe them at all. My friend and I are decently close in level, and at level 12 and 14 respectively we were struggling on hard.

We ran a supply pack on me with the rocket launcher, and my buddy with anti-materiel rifle and the ammo. A charger pops up and we kill it. Unless that dude and his friend are just nuking everything and using recon to avoid any and every fight except for main and optional, you need a rocket launcher. At LEAST expendable ones.

It's doable if it's the 10 minute horde missions. You can solo those with a bit of luck

there are people who beat the highest difficulty of helldivers 1 with joke equipment, it can be done its just very tough.

As for OP point I think some if the weapons don't have the same punch they had in the original, I wouldn't be sad if the weapons got toned up a bit, anti tank used to be a fire and forget with tanks being capable of dying without using them very easily, at least until the reallllly high difficulties.

I am having more success with the Auto cannon. It has more ammo per mag and it's much easier to reload solo. The Carl Gustaf (recoiless rifle) needs a buff, in my opinion. Charger bugs can tank 3-4 shots of that thing which makes destroying solo annoying.

But it's not that bad unless you're playing solo.

On a side note, some main weapons need buffs. The first marksman rifle feels lackluster in my opinion.

I feel like you are VERY limited when it comes to fighting armored enemies. I shouldn't have to screw myself out of the opportunity of using a bunch of other bada** weapons because if I don't bring a rocket launcher the mission can't be done. Just bad design
