How do you leave a squad after extraction???

After completing a mission and extracting I don’t see an option to leave/disband a squad.

You need to go back to the ship, then select "return alone to the ship" or something like that in the esc menu. You can't do it before that from what I've seen.

But I only see that option when I’m in the mission, before extracting. Wouldn’t I need to extract with my squad to save mission progress? I don’t understand.

Once you are back on the ship.
If you do it during mission, it counts as a fail (I guess).
And quitting in any way during extraction/score screen, seems to bug the hell out of the game from what I've seen. So you need to be back on the destroyer.
(Again, this is my observation, I could be wrong)

I completed 3 missions and I didn’t see that option back in the ship. Only when I’m in the mission. I’ll have to check again.

Once you're on the ship, you have 2 options. If you didn't see the option on the ESC screen to "Leave to ship alone" or something like that, it could mean you're hosting and everybody else is on your ship, therefore you can't leave thats hip to go back to your ship. If that's the case, kick everyone else from your ship.
