Tip: Just because some stratagems and guns are locked behind progression doesn't mean they're better. The explosive assault rifle in the premium warbond is garbage and far worse than the default in most scenarios.
Now got tons of ammo , even without using the pistol
Right? Using the explosive assault rifle felt so ♥♥♥♥ after using the standard rifle. Immediately went back
The first light machine gun that the player can get cuts through light armored targets like butter. I swap between that and the grenade launcher currently. I don't burn through entire clips to kill 1 light armored bug, more like 15-20% of the mag.
Use your pistol vs small bugs, they die in 1-2 shots. Bullet penetration is also a thing. Don't auto-fire, do very small controlled bursts and don't waste ammo shooting at armoured targets unless you have view of their weak spot. You can hold the Reload key to switch firing modes, although I find keeping it on Auto is best as you can always just tap the trigger for single shots and have the auto ready for when a bug inevitable jumps up in your face. Use the resupplies sparingly as they are shared by the team with the same cooldown, try to only use them when there's a lull and make the entire team aware that supplies are dropping. Also there are tons of ammo crates on the map, check every POI, any place with a gold beam or some sort of structure, even crashed pods etc, will often have 3-4 boxes of ammo and grenades or stim refills. I use orbital strike for heavy targets and napalm strike for surpirse bug holes/large groups, it will kill the small ones and severely weaken larger bugs, saving you ammo. Using strikes instead of ammo against large groups is always advised. A napalm dropped on the random bugholes will go a really long way to saving you ammo.
Makes a fun difference from generic shootkillmaim class.
