Guns need more bullets per magazine
Been playing for a while now and I'm finding that guns either don't do enough damage or don't have enough bullets.

There are times I'm using up an entire clip of ammo on just one large unarmoured bug (sometimes it doesn't even die), then get I swarmed by little ones because I'm either having to reload or swap weapons.

Even shooting some of the bugs in their weakspots it just doesn't feel like there is enough damage or bullets in the guns to kill them.

It's not very satisfying when you have to use an entire clip of ammo to kill a single bug when you've only got a hand full of clips.

I don't want less enemies, I just want the guns to feel like they make an impact on the slightly larger unarmoured enemies. If that's more damage, more bullets or just flat nerfing their health. Even if there needs to be a few more enemies spawn to make up for the change just having that little big more impact from guns will add to the satisfaction.

More dead bugs is always more satisfying.

Liberty requires a variety of spices, not just your default rifle. Bring in airstrikes and artillery strikes. Let them do the talking against big ones and large groups. Don't leave your backpack and crew weapon slot empty either - use them!

you have 4 suplies in the suplies bag which has 2 mags of every gun(8 mags for every gun) + the supply capsule wich pretty much is 2 or 3 max ammos, never heard of running out of ammo

I mean i dont know what kind of gear you need for max difficulty, probably a tank, but even difficulty 5 is too hard with the gear ive seen so far and a full team.

You clearly don't understand the point.

I have only ran out of ammo once. I'm level 18 and now only play on helldiver difficulty. The only bugs that take "an entire clip of ammo" are brood commanders and bile spewers (Both around 20-25 with starter gun). Everything else takes far less bullets if you actually aim at heads/unarmored areas. The only exceptions are Bile Titans and Chargers which are bosses. If you're having ammo issues, use the machine gun you start with and get a supply pack, or start training your aiming. Another issue could be that you're literally just not using stratagems but if thats the case, it's pretty obvious what the solution is.

Tip: Just because some stratagems and guns are locked behind progression doesn't mean they're better. The explosive assault rifle in the premium warbond is garbage and far worse than the default in most scenarios.

If you're level 18 and playing on Helldiver only, then in no way shape or form are Chargers bosses.

Ran out of ammo on like the first mission because wasting and not understanding the resupply really or using it effectively.
Now got tons of ammo , even without using the pistol

Right? Using the explosive assault rifle felt so ♥♥♥♥ after using the standard rifle. Immediately went back

The first light machine gun that the player can get cuts through light armored targets like butter. I swap between that and the grenade launcher currently. I don't burn through entire clips to kill 1 light armored bug, more like 15-20% of the mag.

Use your pistol vs small bugs, they die in 1-2 shots. Bullet penetration is also a thing. Don't auto-fire, do very small controlled bursts and don't waste ammo shooting at armoured targets unless you have view of their weak spot. You can hold the Reload key to switch firing modes, although I find keeping it on Auto is best as you can always just tap the trigger for single shots and have the auto ready for when a bug inevitable jumps up in your face. Use the resupplies sparingly as they are shared by the team with the same cooldown, try to only use them when there's a lull and make the entire team aware that supplies are dropping. Also there are tons of ammo crates on the map, check every POI, any place with a gold beam or some sort of structure, even crashed pods etc, will often have 3-4 boxes of ammo and grenades or stim refills. I use orbital strike for heavy targets and napalm strike for surpirse bug holes/large groups, it will kill the small ones and severely weaken larger bugs, saving you ammo. Using strikes instead of ammo against large groups is always advised. A napalm dropped on the random bugholes will go a really long way to saving you ammo.

The reason why support classes exists. I love throwing ammo boxes all around.
Makes a fun difference from generic shootkillmaim class.
May i introduce you to the

Ammo Backpack
WastingSanity Feb 10, 2024 @ 6:42am
Don't forget, if you are reloading before you used all the bullets in the magazine then you just wasted those bullets. The player doesn't have X amount of rounds, they have X amount of magazines they carry around.
ProfessorCookie Feb 10, 2024 @ 8:50am
Tried a round with ammo backpack, had more bullets then I ever needed.
StraitShot Feb 10, 2024 @ 8:51am
You need to unlock the ship upgrade that allows you to carry 2 more support reloads.
