The smg for single hand use is kinda decent as well but i haven't used it a lot. Currently running the shotgun oder first assault rifle liberator.
They're meant to be options, not upgrades.
The starting guns is basically no downsides which is why people think its so great but I find it just too puny for most enemies.
Meanwhile the starter pistol is instantly out of a job the moment you get the full auto one. (Now if it had medium AP value, it'd have a use case I can get behind.)
*The high RoF has too much recoil to be practical, and the lower RoF setting doesn't gain much recoil control over the default middle RoF setting on the MG.
