Anyhow it's more about coming up with tactics to do objectives and evacuate alive than actual enemy variety or shooting everything. And that is a lot different each time, even if you keep playing the same mission on the same planet over and over again.
If you don't enjoy grinding, co-op play, progression, seasons and battle passes for years to come, this game isn't for you.
You get more variety at higher difficulty settings. Specifically, more armoured enemies which require either anti-materiel weapons or weak point hits. Bug Tanks especially all but require anti-tank stuff. You CAN shoot them in the butt, but it takes a long time to bring them down this way.
At the end of the day, though, Helldivers is a repetitive game. It's the nature of its design. Drop to a location, kill waves of enemies, do a few objectives, then extract. It's quite similar to something like Deep Rock Galactic in that way. If the moment-to-moment gameplay doesn't keep you interested, the overall game probably won't.
I think the developers set the bar for progress way too high relative to the player base and the speed of progression. Helldivers had a lot of high-level players with both the skill and the gear to clear high difficulty scenarios quickly. Meanwhile, I'm here struggling to clear difficulty 3 out of 9 waiting for an anti-tank weapon unlock or a few backpack :)
Might have to either help us artificially or lower the requirements.
I was expecting more than few enemies with small variations on each difficulty. If this is subject to change as the planets change, I'm open to it. All those games you listed can be arguably bad for the same idea, except Remnant.
WRONG, if the game is fun, players don't mind grinding. You have to have the top-notch core gameplay if you have such little contents and barren landscape you have there. The background setting can be varied for each planet but it is empty.
I guess you could say that for most games.
2. May I ask you why is it always the people who don't have the game that have the strongest opinions about the game?
