Definitely not, you need to clear the galaxy, not spend all year on a planet. Move on soldier, for democracy!

You don't fail if the time runs out, you just lose access to support/stratagems.

I just want more time to get samples fml.. and do side objectives so I can get medals.. speed running the galaxy has got me to lvl 12 with more rare samples than green samples.. now I feel like I need to do lower difficulties just to get green samples

medals are also a pain on page 6, so speed missions are great for that but being able to know I have more time so check points of interest is nice

This is a part of the game to maintain pressure, simple as that. Deal with it :)
And the timer is very mercyfull...

It's fine as is, gives you a reason to book your ass.

If they didn't have a timer to keep you moving, then people would just scavenge the entire map for hours till they're ready to leave.

The timer just helps set a pace. But going over time doesn't end the game, it takes away reinforcements, and stratagems. However, if you completed the main objective, and everyone dies. It still counts as a victory. You just don't get bonus points for the extraction, and you do not keep the resources you found.

No, I'd like it to stay. I feel games like this need some kind of time pressure, particularly since you have multiple ways to restock ammunition/health supplies, so theoretically with no timer, exploration becomes trivial.

At the moment, exploration is a risk-reward decision.

I'd like the timer gone. The first game managed to pressure the player without a timer

This is a failure however. Game is horrid without strategems. Timer just is not fun.

Then give me infinite reinforcement at least.
i'm not a huge fan of the timer but it seems gracious mostly. i think a cool 'fix' would be that it adds 5 or so minutes to the timer when you complete a side objective.

So you basically cannot lose?

I love the timer system.

no its great
since there is no team tether in any way, the tether is just that the game is hard as balls, so you should stick together, but the low timer gives incentive to go solo missioning and complete as many things as possible spreading out
