Remove the mission timer
The mission timer is stupid, and i don't mean a regular kind of stupid, like A-grade prime beaten-over-the-head-with-a-pan stupid. You have these massive open areas with 6 bug holes, 3 side objectives and 2 main objectives, then we have 10 minutes to do it all? Why? Do you hate us wanting to appreciate the areas? do you not want us to explore? Make it make sense to me.

I gotta disagree

Without a timer, what’s the point?

be better at the game

have yet to play but, i think the point is to make it more challenging for the galactic war effort thing. would be easy to progress in community objectives if everyone had infinite time and no loss conditions. makes it more tense. also you'll be basically replaying the same kinds of missions often, you'll have time to explore in other runs

welcome to extraction games

The area with the "Massive holes." is condensed. Drop close to them, bring a grenade launcher or a massive strike and profit.
From what I know, you can still explore after timer, it just that you won't be able to call stratagems, which means you will eventually run out of ammo

Insanely terrible take, and any mission set up the way you are explaining has like a 45 minute timer. Only mission with a 10 minute timer is a mission where you drop in on a tiny area just to kill a large hive.

My brothers and I ran out of time in a mission, but the game keeps going, you just can't use Stratagems. It's whatever. I just need better weapons which means I have a lot of bugs to introduce to Freedom.

To kill bugs, and complete objectives? Not sure why a timer gives it purpose.

If anything, they should just make it so bug patrols become more frequent as time goes on. Far better solution than "Your personal dreadnought abandoning you because you took 40 minutes".
i agree that they remove it or make it longer, that will be nice

There is no ten minute mission that houses all those objectives. Those larger missions allow you to use stratagems for 30 to 40 minutes. What you're referring to are missions where the sole objective is to kill the bug spawn locations. The timer is limited so you don't sit there cheesing it with extremely long cooldown statagems you unlock later.

You can explore all you want. The mission timer means nothing other than removing respawns and statagems. Grow the ♥♥♥♥ up.

time limits add an unnecessary element of stress to something that should be relaxing, any time i play a game with a time limit (except for cases where it does NOT matter like monster hunter) i cannot help but worry about it the entire time

it runs counter to the idea of packing maps full of side objectives and incentivizing exploration, especially with how long it takes to get everywhere on foot and with some of the stupid objective placement that you can get

the first game didn't need a timer to be challenging (or limited lives for that matter) so why does this one?

Bro it’s Helldivers. These missions aren’t supposed to relax you

There's plenty of time to do missions, I've ran out of time ONCE on a mission out of 26. It's a sudden-death mechanic to prevent needlessly dragging a game out

This is correct. No Strategems, including respawn strategems for other players

Since it's about 50/50 on the timer issue, how about this, since i never actually provided a solution:

have "time critical" missions that give bonus rewards for completing, but other missions you can stay in all day if you want.
