Anyone else get the Steam super slow unpacking issue?

Predownloaded the game... went to install and it was unpacking at around 2MB/s... nothing fixed it. Thought maybe it was just really slow due to encrypted.

Finally gave up on it, wiped everything, and decided to download the whole mess new, post-release.

....same issue...except now it also has to download on top of it. :-|

Same issue. Came home from work expecting to get on and play the game as I pre-downloaded it the night before. Steam tells me it has 70 gigs to "patch," stuck at 2mb/s.

Guess I'll try again after work tomorrow

I just gave up on it and went to bed. Game finished while I was zonked.

This is the third time I've had this issue with steam but I can't recall if both other instances were a pre-download as well or not.

Anyway..at least this drove me to finally clean up a bunch of trash left on my SSD. Looking forward to giving this game a spin when I get off work again....

Same here. Windows says that for some reason even though it's installed on my SSD, it's downloading the patch and unpacking it on my HDD.

Actually I was wondering why it was so slow and YES I have the same issue. I guess I will have to turn off the HDD.

Same thing is happening to me. Very strange.

I have nothing but M.2 and SSDs and it still saying a 1.5 GB patch is gonna take like 8 hours.

Slow Unpacking means either a HDD is being involved ( SSD too smal it moves data to HDD over ) , or a HEAVILY fragmented HDD , or a SSD without DRAM onboard ( they slow down below HDD speeds on huge loads )
