First game I've ever had an issue with.

If you find an answer I wanna know too. Game is all over the place for me.

Ive played 5 missions, 2 were actually smooth, 3 were very choppy.

On the ship never seems to be smooth, its like this ->

Frame spikes all over the place.

But for reasons unknown to me, I have managed to play some maps while the frame rate stayed rock solid :s :S

Ive updated drivers, enabled/disabled rebar/Ecores. Its just hit and miss all the time. CPU use is very spikey.

*UPDATE*
The patch pushed out a few hours after this post fixed the issue for me. Plays nice now.

it's because of the anti-cheat. i made a thread about it but it got deleted

"Since GameGuard essentially works like a rootkit, players may experience unintended and potentially unwanted side effects. If set, GameGuard blocks any installation or activation of hardware and peripherals (ex. a mouse) while the program is running. Since GameGuard monitors any changes in the computer's memory, it will cause performance issues when the protected game loads multiple or large resources all at once."

I was having awful stuttering just on loading the tutorial mission on first boot-up. Changing in-game settings did nothing.

I updated my drivers and restarted the game. Things seem better now, even bumped up the graphics again and its still smoother.

I have latest nvidia driver. It's unplayable.

For me it actually turned out to be the Global Illumination graphics setting. Turning that off removed all stuttering on my card.

Try limiting your fps.

I will give the shortest tl:dr version of what I experienced here:

Unlocked fps: 140-170 on the ship. When I turn my head I drop to 40.
FPS cap at 120: a straight flat frametime graph. 1-2 fps devitation at most.
