Keybinding-Swap Weapon

The title kind of says it all; is there a way to make it so I can swap weapons using scroll wheel instead of pressing 1-3? If so how?

The best I could come up with is binding the change equipment short and long setting. They are off by default. However, if you bind them to scroll wheel up and down it’ll unbind it from the weapon wheel. Ideally you should be able to have both of them on because the weapon wheel is only on while holding R but the game doesn’t let you do that. I would think it could be a simple fix but evidently we need to make a bigger stink about it.

same problem. I just cant press W, shift, and 1/2/3 buttons at the same time. not enough fingers.
upd: damn, it is called "change equipment (short)" and "change equipment (long)" in "options -> mouse & keyboard -> combat" menu.
not quite intuitive though.

Not having it on the mouse wheel is a pretty large oversight. How am I supposed to switch weapons without a mouse wheel when spreading managed democracy?

This is just me, but I have a mouse with 6 thumb buttons, and three of those* have ALWAYS (since I got the mouse) been my "primary, secondary, 'special'" weapons buttons in pretty much all the shooter games I play. Adapting these to Helldivers (replacing 1,2,3) was extremely easy and I highly recommend getting a similar mouse if you game a lot.

*The other three buttons are a bit awkwardly positioned for me so I rarely use them, if at all. One of them is programmed to "W" so that I can adjust my grip to walk and look one handed, for example when I take a sip from my water bottle and don't wanna waste any time ;)

Trying to switch weapons with the weapon wheel feels so awkward to someone used to just scrolling one click, and I never have used the number keys for weapons at all.

I've been using scroll wheel to cycle through weapons for several years when PC Gaming. It's faster, easier, and more convenient.
It makes no sense why switching between my weapons requires 3 separate buttons.
