When i alt tab out and play a youtube video, they sound muddy too.
As soon as I quit the game, the youtube video sound goes back to normal.
Game is borked./
In the past, I'd fixed it for myself by going into Control Panel > Sounds > Playback and disabling only the Headset version of my bluetooth device. I left Headphones alone and that let audio playback. This worked for me because I also have a stand-alone mic.
Do not do this if your bluetooth headset is where your mic is located as well, it'll break your ability to talk to anyone
I've also noticed that in the Windows 11 audio mixer, there are two instances of Helldivers 2 audio tabs running at once (one of which cannot be adjusted), which I've never seen before.
Go to Bluetooth & devices > More devices and printer settings > *right click on the relevant audio output (should look like an earpiece)* > Properties > Services > *uncheck 'Hands-free Telephony'*. This fix is only temporary and will reset upon reboot.
For reference I'm using a pair of Sony WH-1000XM3s with a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter. Hopefully this gets patched soon so we don't have to keep doing this every time we launch the game.
i did this and it worked for getting the audio to stop sound like ♥♥♥♥, now the audio only comes through in short bursts about once every second
This did the trick! Thanks!
