This VS Earth Defense Force 5?
Title.

Ofc i can see at graphical / technical level HD2 is plain better, but EDF5 was never about graphics anyway.

I mean in terms of pure fun, crazyness, hordes of enemies and such. EDF5 seems hard to beat in terms of pure fun and the "scope" of it with tons of enemies, airstrikes, vehicles and such.

Thanks for sharing thoughts.

it kinda has the same vibe but it's random and more chaotic due to that it's random.
Also you can go fight the automatron to change the pace

Helldivers is poor man's Earth Defense Force. A cheap imitation

Same feel when you look at them, but ultimately very different games.

It's not an imitation, you can clearly see the differences in just screenshots. The stratagems change everything when you actually play it.

Very different games, but if I had to pick one to play RIGHT NOW I'd go with EDF.

EDF has a wider variety of enemies, classes and vehicles - You can get giant robots to punch Godzilla, helicopters, a bunch of tanks, but the objective in EDF is pretty much always "Kill all of the enemies". There is no interacting with stuff in the mission, you just shoot weird aliens, and the giant bugs look like giant ants and bees that you would see in your garden.

Doesn't even come close to EDF 5.... Not possible for anything else to be that awesome O7... If you must compare... Think of it more like the pace of the crap American EDFs, where you play the Air Raider all the time

Helldivers feels like the developers have made a game before.

EDF, even after five iterations, still feels like a student project. I get the appeal of a B-movie "good bad game" but EDF feels like total cheeks to actually play.

HD2 has some launch pains to work through, but when a mission is rolling, it's a ton of fun and feels awesome.

Not many people seem to know this. But EDF is an ip with a 20 year history

No we're aware buddy, It's just jank as hell to actually play. Besides playing anything other than a lancer just feels too slow in EDF.

Right now, EDF is the much better game from an objective point of view, in that its much more stable and that sort of stuff.

EDF is stupid though, like stupid fun, stupid funny and just stupid stupid, its a trip and i would highly encourage you to play it with someone else so you can riff on the stupid of it all.
