Statue with Shovel

Just after you finish boot camp and before you get in your pod to leave, head down behind the landing pad and found a statue with a shovel in a small pile of dirt in front of it, with two flags on both sides of it. It was tucked up behind the pad in the back of it.

Easter Egg maybe?

There is another shovel at the beginning of the map on the right, past one of the fences before the main training gate(opposite a half-buried dead body with a skull beside it too). Wonder if there's more
