We hate bugs... Bugs get squished, but these are BIG bugs. And for big bugs we need BIGGER weapons.

So we get these bigger weapons and we use them to SQUISH the bugs.

Oh also something about claiming planets for Humanity. but I am only here to kill bugs and maybe robots. Robot bugs.

And probably in-game bugs as well, but not the kind you can kill, the kind that make the game unfun, but those get removed later probably at a day-one patch or maybe a week-one patch

From what I've seen (and anyone can feel free to correct me) it's like HD1. You squad up in your Dropship, pick a planet to drop in on, and go do your mission. Ready up by entering your Hellpod, get shot to the planet's surface, and it's a mission shooter from there. Complete your set objectives, evac. Rinse and repeat.

Get in, get ♥♥♥♥ done, extract.

Unlock some capes, unlock some new outfits, new guns, new stratagems.

Get in again, kill your teammates accidentally, keep fighting when you shouldn't and spread your hot, sticky libertea everywhere, extract, or don't and eat bug (or automaton) parts for breakfast instead.

HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats.
