If it's on Steam, it's not a ps exclusive. So yeah, this is just bad.

This is a mistake on the steam page. They clarified in the Discord FAQ it is not required for Steam users. Source: Helldiver's discord FAQ section.

PC is the secondary platform for PS and Xbox even Nintendo sometimes for their exclusive games. It's mainly a PS5 focused game. Anyway what's the bad thing about it? Just go and create an account in under 5 minutes. I don't know technical part of it but most likely you HAVE to link your Steam account with PS account to play with people on Playstation via crossplay. So what's wrong here for you? Personal data collection bla bla bla? Nobody cares about your personal data, create an account with a secondary e-mail and a fake name, problem solved. Too many nonsense topics and discussions...

Consoles crawled back to PC in the 2010s and consoles are being abandoned for handhelds.

Mate did you read what I said? Probably you HAVE to do it to play with people on Playstation and to use crossplay. How this can be a dealbreaker for someone is beyond me. Don't play it then, what else I can say?
