This is realistic armor design, they don't make them custom for women in modern military either.

I mean just responding to the last one, but in all honesty this game has only three armor parts: head, torso, cape. If they did stuff like in Destiny 2 with how the armor looks (talking bout gender side of looks) then I think that's what the OP is talking bout. I mean D2 has five armor piesces so this would be even less stuff to do. At least from what I know bout the game and its armor system. Plus if the game had males and females look exactly the same, why even add an option for gender in the first place.

If I can't look good while blowing xenos into bits, then I ain't blowing xenos into bits, at least not in this game. Fashion is important for some more than the gameplay, and if the game doesn't even differ the gender, why play it? It would prolly be fun either way, but more satisfying with fashion.

Ya know, just for fun. I looked up women and men in gear, anything heavy mind you. They looked pretty damn similar outside of exposed arms/legs. Even women in full combat gear didn't have some "Bodacious rack." pucking their armor out. Women in firemen's gear also didn't have anything of the sort that could help you differentiate between the two, so I'd say how it is, is perfectly fine.
