PSN Account Required?

hey the story so far thing says I need a PSN Account in order to play this game. I dont have a PSN account so can somebody tell me if i need to make a PSN account or not just to play?

I purchased from Fanatical, but was never prompted to sign into my PSN account. Can someone tell me if there is a way I can manually sign into my PSN account while on the game.

Actually, you don't! I think it may cause join issues with a Playstation user, but I clicked Skip (its an option) and I have been playing with many different friends, though all over Steam. Again, may cause joining issues down the line, but so far hasn't affected me.

Yeah I can confirm you dont need a PSN account to access HD2 on PC. im fairly certain this is only if you want to crossplay, I chose skip also cz i dont want sony sniffing around my steam account with it being linked and have managed to play a few missions fine

don't need a PSN account for crossplay
the only thing if you need that PSN account for
is for Cross-platform saves

Lost mine just before covid and because i didn't save a receipt to an online game (didn't even know those were a thing went straight to my spam folder) I couldn't get my decade old psn account back. Had a physical receipt that i had kept in the game cover but that wasn't good enough needed to be from a online purchase only i asked if there was any other way and he said nope.......like what the ♥♥♥♥ sony?

You don't need a PSN account, at least on PC. I just ignored that and have been playing for a week almost without it asking again. I don't even have a PSN account.

wtf no you dont?!? why are people here saying you do? if youre using steam AT NO POINT DOES IT ASK FOR PSN ACCOUNT!! you dont need to make one, link one, and/or have one. not even to use crossplay, you dont need one.
