It's actually Play2Win, those currencies can be earn in-game.

Currency can be earned to buy the warbond thingies, instead of the DLC packs they had for Helldivers 1.
Waiting to play the game and reserve my judgement regarding this method but if said currency can be earned by playing normally that would be great.
Also helps keep game alive I guess.

Game isnt what i call P2W, there is a premium currency which you can use to buy cosmetics in the store and Warbonds, which have actual gameplay items like guns and such. You cant buy things like weapons and stratagems directly with the premium currency, at least not on launch. Also, from what i understand the armors sold at the cosmetic store are just reskins of existing ones, so they do have stats and passives that other armors have, but its the same as the normally adquireable armors, so there wont be, say, a specific perk locked behind a store item

No, they cannot go to shop and guy better weapon than yours. They can buy warband (battlepass) before you gather premium currency by playing for free, therefore they might have specific weapon faster, but not blocked behind paywall

Think this is coming off my Wishlist - another game of grinding and in game purchasing is not what the world needs right now.

Is there a place to put a bet on how bad games will go XD would be easy pickings these days.

Well, it`s not exactly like that here. You can`t buy a thing itself for real money(if we are talking about warbonds), but you can buy the right to buy it with a free currency that you have to earn by playing the game.
So basically you can grind for 20-100 hours(depending on the price, your skill and luck) to get an item and whale will get it in maybe 3-5 hours at most. Which is still bad, but people really want you to believe that it is different, somehow.

IT IS DIFFERENT- because the game IS ABOUT GRIND (deep rock galactics, destiny, warframe, every live service), and if some people buy warbands to save some time then it's better for you as the game will receive longer support with steady income, and you have even more content to grind. How is that hard to understand? The fun of this game comes from feeling of progression, why are you here if it's not ur cup of tea?
