There might be some toxic people who play for the first few days and imagine there will be a commend system just like the original and eventually all the toxic people will just be playing with each other.
I'm just wondering how often accidentally being shot in the back will happen, that happened a lot, but again, revives are near instant anyway.
Deep Rock has friendly fire, but the community for the most part is super chill and doesn't do stupid ♥♥♥♥.
If the devs are enabling friendly fire then they better make the difficulty curve as sharp as possible much before even endgame hits.
The ones who purposely TK'd, as if that's going to help you accomplish anything in a co-op focused game or who had no sense of humor about getting squashed by an ill placed bombing run or a tank running over them and kept screaming in all caps "STOP KILLING ME GDAMM YOU!!!!!!!" repeatedly were NOT people I ever wanted to play HD with again. :)
Incidental FF is part of the fun, sounds like if anything it will be even more commonplace in 3rd person view, judging by the couple gaming news site previews so far (just harder to line up air support runs precisely for one). If one doesn't have a sense of humor about it, I just wouldn't play either HD. :)
And normally I am a whiny little baby about friendly fire/terrified of shooting my team in the back of the head... Mostly because enemies get to no-clip through walls and ignore friendly fire, rather than "Hey this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needs to learn to aim!" (If these enemies are so cool how come THEY need the game journalist options, huh?)
Intentional fratricide is never tolerated, and has hardly ever been seen on the battlefields of our previous, glorious campaign.
Spreading democracy isn't easy, and intentionally killing your teammates will quickly lead to your own demise, trooper.
Fortunately, they've provided us with strategems for clutch revival of our fellow liberators. Fear not, should you be felled by careless muzzle discipline from your comrades, or accidentally standing in the wrong place when an Freedom Package is delivered, it's highly unlikely that one of your squad mates will leave you behind.
Go forth, and spread glory, not FUD.
