Opinions regarding friendly fire?
Personally I feel Friendly Fire would make it more toxic and teammates holding grudges against each other if it occurred more than once. It would probably start with a chat message and end with a fight and then into intentional friendly fire from how I see it.

I never saw this in magicka or helldivers 1 (and I played a lot of helldivers 1), the point is that while you can kill your team, you can also revive them in the blink of an eye.

There might be some toxic people who play for the first few days and imagine there will be a commend system just like the original and eventually all the toxic people will just be playing with each other.

I'm just wondering how often accidentally being shot in the back will happen, that happened a lot, but again, revives are near instant anyway.

Probably in the first couple of weeks of release but will be pretty chill once all the casuals and trolls leave, so you'll be left with people who just wanna play the game without griefing.

Deep Rock has friendly fire, but the community for the most part is super chill and doesn't do stupid ♥♥♥♥.

Played a lot of CS back in the glory days with friendly fire which is known for lot of toxic racist slander, If you can easily solo your objectives then its a problem since they wouldn;t need you but if you can't then these toxic ppl will last for few days and then run away when their progression cannot go beyond teamwork

If the devs are enabling friendly fire then they better make the difficulty curve as sharp as possible much before even endgame hits.

Friendly fire always feels like the negatives far outweigh any dubious positives. Especially in a game like this, a fast pace horde fighting game, lots of melee enemies.

The core experience of Helldivers IS friendly fire. Be aware of your surroundings, foes and allies, that's the entire point. Also, when playing with friends, FF represents 50% of the fun.

FF was half the "fun" of Helldivers, and I learned quickly that co-op players who laughed about it and were cool with it happening accidentally and had a sense of humor about it were the HD players I added to my friends list and kept playing with.

The ones who purposely TK'd, as if that's going to help you accomplish anything in a co-op focused game or who had no sense of humor about getting squashed by an ill placed bombing run or a tank running over them and kept screaming in all caps "STOP KILLING ME GDAMM YOU!!!!!!!" repeatedly were NOT people I ever wanted to play HD with again. :)

Incidental FF is part of the fun, sounds like if anything it will be even more commonplace in 3rd person view, judging by the couple gaming news site previews so far (just harder to line up air support runs precisely for one). If one doesn't have a sense of humor about it, I just wouldn't play either HD. :)

Kick uncooperative players. You don't have to play with people you don't like.

It's gonna be toxic hell.

Yeh, its gonna toxic hell(as this poster above me says). I can only hope I do find some fun inbetween that.

Helldivers had always had one thing that makes it unique, the same thing that made Magicka unique. THE CHAOS! Making sense of a situation that can go from fine to FUBAR in moments is what it is all about...

Embrace the chaos. Why would people be toxic too in missions if the whole goal would be to complete em. Everyone gets rewarded all the same so whats in it for a person to waste 40-60$ just to troll in matches

trolling with friendly fire will only happen if the guy finds the game boring so the only way to get the fun is by trolling, if you find one he will do this for a while and then just quit the game altogheter forever, if the game is fun and the rewards of completing the mission are solid there won't be as many trolls

It has been years since I played any Magica, missed out playing the first helldivers in spite of buying it on a sale... But as a long time Earth Defense Force player, I am hoping the gut instinct of "React to orbital striking or bad nuclear hand grenade throwing eachother to death with singing and dancing as hard as you can, crossing language barriers in understanding of this chaos" carries over.

And normally I am a whiny little baby about friendly fire/terrified of shooting my team in the back of the head... Mostly because enemies get to no-clip through walls and ignore friendly fire, rather than "Hey this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needs to learn to aim!" (If these enemies are so cool how come THEY need the game journalist options, huh?)

Accidents happen. All the time.

Intentional fratricide is never tolerated, and has hardly ever been seen on the battlefields of our previous, glorious campaign.

Spreading democracy isn't easy, and intentionally killing your teammates will quickly lead to your own demise, trooper.

Fortunately, they've provided us with strategems for clutch revival of our fellow liberators. Fear not, should you be felled by careless muzzle discipline from your comrades, or accidentally standing in the wrong place when an Freedom Package is delivered, it's highly unlikely that one of your squad mates will leave you behind.

Go forth, and spread glory, not FUD.

Friendly fire has been its MAIN feature from HD1, it's part of the risk, just kick any toxic player. Friendly fire should be Permanently on.
