Kernel level anti-cheat is also anti-consumer. It's as if you had to install cameras in every room in your house to make sure you don't do something bad. And that includes your bathroom.
Take some time to listen to some computer security podcasts or read about it. You'll get a much needed perspective from that.
Nuance is dead.
At a pretty good rate? I assume you have a source for that bold claim? The devs saying "trust me bro" is not a source. What are the numbers? How many hours of gameplay is it going to take earn enough currency to unlock a warbond?
And if you earn them at a pretty good rate like you claim then why on earth would anyone buy premium currency? It makes no sense.
Someone being self-aware on the steam forum? that's awesome!
I do tend to attribute the forum metaphorical bloodbath to Arrowhead's decision to abandon the Steam forums and focus its community reps solely on Discord, which was not really in play much in late 2015. So back then AH had reps active here at Steam forums and they answered questions, locked overheated threads, posted tons of stickied posts with information and answers in them. That's all gone now for HD2, and the Forum for AH2 is just going to just remain a chaotic mess of angry posts.
I did suggest in the constantly scrolling into chat buffer oblivion Discord HD2 channel they just ask one community rep to check in here at the Steam forums - like why would you actively ignore a public form for your game - but I suspect they simply don't want to spend the time here anymore.
Like if you go to Deep Rock Galactic's steam forums it's pretty much just smiles and sunshine all the time. It is kind of jarring if you're used to playing big western games though.

Of this my primary concerns are 1 and 3. One I can deal with. 3 is lame in small group PvE.
4 is... ok. Price is reduced, and I was fine with the design philosophy of the prior game. 2 is obnoxious, but otherwise 'required' for cross play. Would have preferred that being optional except for enabling crossplay. Meanwhile, 1 is more of a distant concern in preservation.
But for me? It really just comes down to 3. Lift a requirement to compromise my OS kernel and I would be in without reservation. Everything else would still be obnoxious, but I can deal with it giving my experience with Arrowhead and interest for crossplay.
