3rd mech ?

Am I doing something wrong ? Where and when do i get the third mech - or even more ? I can just salvage parts from intact mechs - not he mech itself ?

You need to build a mech frame from the mobile base's workshop. That unlocks once you conquer the first region.

you can also turn salvage mech frames in the difficulty options to allow you to salvage an intact frame, provided your mobile base has an open slot.

Hey another Gonzo :)

We've already been discussing this on the thread "Creating 3rd Unit?" (not sure if there's a bug or not). Apparently we're supposed to get a "free" third Walker at the end of the tutorial which we are not getting (it's this that seems to be messing up the squad limit calculations, and why you can only build a new Walker after you've built the extra storage upgrade for the Mobile Base (and then you can build TWO Walker frames after the game has been forced to recalculate the squad limits)).

Wait. We were supposed to get a free 3rd mech? We were not supposed to build it after liberating the first area?

That's what I assumed I had to do (and did). Recently upgraded for extra storage and unlocked my 4th mech so I've not hit the bug mentioned above.
