Can't find a way to leave hidden vault? Help!

I just went through the quarry for the first time, went to the bottom, went through the door, and kept going, through the ziggurat and into the hidden vault. When I saw the save point before the boss fight was dead, I felt like something was wrong, but I went ahead anyway and beat the boss, and...now I can't find any way to leave the fault! I checked a walkthrough and apparently the door behind it is supposed to be open, but I guess I missed something maybe back in the quarry, and now I can't leave! Is there some way I missed inside the vault to open this door, or do I have to restart the game?

There should an obelisk right behind the dead save point. Pray at it and the door should open.

Wow, I definitely tried that...just tried again and it worked. Guess I didn't pray long enough or close enough the first time? Thanks!
