Quite confused about an achievement (spoilers)
I really suck at puzzle games even though I really love them, finding the secret fairies and the items was a lot of fun but some of them were really hard to figure out. The TV was pretty much the only one that I needed the answer handed to me by a guide... But I still don't get how someone got the answer to the retro achievement. Can somebody explain how the solution was figured out? I just like knowing how people got the achievement :)

Are you talking about vintage?

The solution is given on the very first page (you have to stand in water for 60 seconds to see it, as suggested by the star drawn there corresponding to another page), but you need to translate the language to read it. I did beat the game without looking up anything, but I made absolutely no progress in terms of that, and other than that treasure you don't get much by translating.

The text is "The softest feather, corrected eleven times, departed once more" which corresponds to down, right x 11, left x 12

(The other one I had to look up was the one that requires you to bomb the wall because you don't use a mechanism like that anywhere else in the game... I sat there trying to interpret the bushes as inputs for directional buttons for probably 2+ hours.)

Here is one of the absolute geniuses who figured out the "language" (it is a language, but that language is English -- it's just a different way to represent it.) https://preview.redd.it/r077gs3uhyn81.png?width=1500&format=png&auto=webp&s=242a6ea69483d0495963929ac87edb920f95cb19

sorry I didn't get how did you convert the riddle into directions... did you just tried random directions until it worked? (numbers of "how many times to press" are understandable)

not really. Game has several spots you can bomb. On overworld, few are marked on the actual map. I clearly remember bombing walls being in very first Zelda game, not sure about other ones... so if you know about that mechanic, bombing the wall is one of things you could try to open the secret. (Bonus points if you tried bombing those walls that require actually pressing a button on them)

It's all puns/alternate definitions.

Down - A soft type of feather (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_feather))
Right - Correct(ed) (as in correct answer)
Left - Departed (He left/ he departed)

Yeah, that riddle part of Vintage was easy, but 2 things where not clear to me: 1) the location and 2) Turning off the game's audio, wtf? xD
