Endgame Question

I only have The Heir left to fight, so I'm exploring and discovering a lot of secrets via hints in the manual. However, I've recently been stumped about the door in the back of the house you can sleep in and also the golden obelisk at the top of the mountain in the main overworld.

I've tried using the d-pad combination from the manual many times at both these locations, but neither of them respond to it. Apparently the obelisk hides page 48/49 of the manual, and every guide I've seen says to just use the d-pad combination to unlock it. Am I doing something wrong or is my game bugged?

They're the same combination, Down, Right, Up, Left, Up, Right. I've also tried at the obelisk for page 48/49 and nothing's happening. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

That's weird, because I tested with a new save without collecting any of the instruction manual and I was still able to open those locked doors.

Wait a minute, the combination is not the same.

As I said follow the combination mark on the door. The combination on page 48/49 is a seeking spell which to track for missing fairies.
