Sword/damage bug?

For some reason I can't strike the Eastern/Western bells or damage the Garden Knight boss with my sword. Only magic attacks or bombs could take down his health. Is this a glitch? Anyone else encounter this?
Only my magic wand or dagger could strike the watchtower bells.

For context, I'm playing on Xbox and when I first started the game I did the "Bring it to the Wrong Fight" achievement immediately. I've had the No Fail option and other accessibility options on for a number of occasions throughout my run so far.

Edit: Made it to the Siege Engine boss and my sword doesn't work on him either. This is really messed up. It works fine on regular enemies...
I've tried turning off all the Accessibility options, uninstalling/reinstalling, and nothing seems to fix it.

Which badges do you have equipped? I think the fire sword one doesn't work on certain enemies.

That worked, thank you!!! Maybe it's not a bug then....super weird though. You'd think that the sword would still damage them but they wouldn't catch fire. Instead, you get absolutely no feedback that you've even swung at the enemy.

happy it was a simple issue! Yes this seems to be a common bit of feedback at this point, I agree with what you've said as being a problem.
