WOWS is terrible.
I started playing in the summer of 2016 and finally uninstalled a few months ago.

The problems began when they introduced CVs long ago. They never fit in despite almost yearly redesigns.

The final blow was subs which they had vowed to never have in the game.

Another big problem is that it's very arcade-like where it's all about shooting as if you were playing an FPS game but in a ship.

After a few months it hits you that the number of things that can happen in a game are severely limited. This means that all the games begin to feel as if you have played them before countless times.

I prefer thinking man's naval warfare games such as Sea Power and the upcoming Task Force Admiral.

Cvs were in beta.

This invalidates your post almost entirely.

Yearly redesigns, there's been 1 major rework, there was a small tweak to cross drops in old CV game play, but only 1 real rework to how they work, not any "Yearly redesigns"

Do you actually play or did you say that to give yourself more credibility?

According to WoWs Wiki
"14:32, 29 September 2015" When Hosho was added, meaning when you started, Carriers were already in the game.
Sort of makes it sound even more like you don't really know what you're talking about.

If you prefer other styles of game play, that's fine. WoWs has always been arcady and with gimmicks.

Move on .. game is not for you and find one which is!!

Good Day!

All too often there's rage posts on here (and the official discord) about subs and CV's. I get it - it's a sucky way to be sunk, the feeling of helplessness against them in certain situations. But my suspicion is that having your game wrecked by a sub or CV is actually not as common as you think, plus you can actually take action to avoid being tormented by both.

Plus, people really need to stop comparing this game to Sea Power and TFA - they're both single player strategy games!

If you are looking for either a simulator or a full blown tactical game and not a team-based action shooter, then World of Warships is indeed not the game for you. That doesn't make the game terrible, that does not make you an idiot. It just means that this is not the game you are looking for. Nothing more, nothing less.

Though I have to agree with Hiei here that CVs were not introduced at some point, they were part of the game already when it was published. And that there has only been one single rework for them in the whole history of the game.

So you played the game for 8 years and now choose to move on? Sounds like you enjoyed it for a while (or that was a horrendous waste of time). Good luck in what you move on to.

And as above, CVs existed from the start (which you would know if you really had been playing since 2016) and have not been "redesigned on a yearly basis". The change from the RTS style CVs was many years ago and has been the only rework of the class. The way the game works hasnt really changed in all that time although obviously there have been a ton of new ships and content added. Its always been a slow paced arcade shooter. Again, as you would know if you played since beta.

Subs are certainly unpopular with many people so if you dislike them enough to make you not want to play then fair enough.

Farewell!

Judging by your post, you haven't.

Its kind of a requirement for posting on the games forum to have actually played it. If the above was directed at my post then its certainly the case that the forum mods have played a bit and at least have half a clue.

But look, you wish to stop playing. Upto you and best wishes.

You certainly had a good run if you played that many years. Personally I still enjoy the game having played as long as you claimed to have.

Good luck onwards!

I started playing less than a month ago and already have +100 hours, I suck at everything except for submarines, So they are the reason I'm playing

Wows is the best online game ever made. No need to say more

CV's and Subs get all the bad press. But if there's something which really tanks the WOWs experience - it's the abundance of players who are utterly terrible at the game. We've been over it before here, but the training of new players (or of experienced really bad players) is plainly inadequate.

Yeah, a lot of the game is either unintuitive or counter intuitive; with a lot of the most important mechanics being incredibly opaque and not consistently or reliably documented.

Although there's a lot of "you can lead a horse to water" about it: The number of terrible players who militantly refuse to listen to their betters far outweighs the number of players who are interested in learning to play as far as I can tell.

All the years you have been playing you should be pretty dam good If your telling the truth why are you not very good at this game. Why are you complaining now. Why haven't you learned how to play against cvs all this time all you have to do It stay near your other ships for support and don't run off by your self. Subs try not to park to long and again stay with your other ships, try to save a heal so you can do a repair and the torps won't lock on to you Is just a start or stay near islands so you can duck behind them .

If you need help a lot of good people here that can help you Darnel. What do you need help with you should ask that before posting? I'm 65 had two or three strokes and do well In this game still. Hang In there If you can and good luck Captain. Remember this both sides are equal In ships may the better side win.

Post is nonsense since first sentence. Carriers have been in the game since 2015, therefore they were never "introduced" and you never played without them.

And it IS an arcade game, for better or worse. Complaining about that is like complaining an FPS game is a shooter.

On one thing I'll agree. Subs did very nearly ruin the game for me.
