The benefit of Transfiguration is that it makes your mirage stronger. For example, certain moves can be passed to the other forms. The "white" ring around certian skills indicate it is a exclusive move for that mirage. Also, if you max out a mirage's transfigurations, you might master it's mirage board, and get a special bouns you can unlock. Transfiguration also allows you to "show" the mirage in the mirage manual in the twins room. If your going for the achievo for getting them all, you need to transfig all mirages at least once to all forms. Also, each transfiguration has their own "special" moves you can unlock, as indicated on their mirage boards as a white circle skill. For example, the black chocochic has it's own exclusive moves compared to the regular chocochick.

Thank you for the quick reply. Another question i have caught both a goblin and a goblin Guard which is the upgraded version, is there any reason to level up the regular goblin at this point? or a red cap? since they can all be trans'ed into one another.

You can check if the one has a transfiguration into the other forum in the Twins Room Mirage Manual, or at a save spot. I suggest keeping them both as later in the game it is good to have a couple multiple same mirages as some mirages have mutliple big forms. It is your choice in the end if your going to get them all. There is quite a good guide also if your going mirage collecting.

Ive been using this great guide, and almost have all mirages in the game now:

Be aware if you read ahead in it, it may spoil some storyline things..Just check the "gotta catch them all" section...

i plan on getting all of the achievements by the time i am done with the game, hopefully. my problem at the moment is i am not sure which mirages to carry at this point in time as i have too many. i have been trying to get alol of the ones i can per zone before moving on if i can.

Only get either 1 or 2 copies of each mirage you can catch. That is all i suggest. You don't need anymore than that, unless you want to specialize certain ones with specific skills. Also, you can get alot of mirages. There is no such thing as having too many..there is a limit of how many you can store, but i haven't even reached it and im in postgame.

NOTE: One other thing to take note of that i missed. When you open the coliseum, there are certain mirages with stars next to their names. This means their mirages that won't transfigure, but are still needed to be caught. I made the mistake of missing alot of these and ended going back to catch alot of them. Just make sure to catch them if you can too.

ALWAYS have LIBRA skill also as a mirajewel skill if your trying to get them all too.
