Whats the texture filtering called.. anisotropic. Supposed to make them sharp when looking at an angle.
It's been in games for like 20 years, and it is one of the few things that really annoys me when it is not available ... what have been seen cannot be unseen.
The visual improvements are huge while barely impacting performance.
Also some textures in FC5 seem to not have any kind of filter one them (like the bridge on the screenshots I posted) while others at least have it to some degree, like roads or mud, which look more like 2x or 4x anisotropic filtering.
Does anybody know a way to enforce 16x on all textures?
I've taken note of your messages regarding texture filtering in Far Cry 5, and I'm sorry to hear that it impacts your experience !
The thread has been moved to the Player Support section of the forum, to bring it the best possible visibility.
In order to isolate the problem and determine the best possible solutions, I invite you to let us know the following :
- Specs of your PC (CPU/GPU/RAM)
- VRAM of the GPU installed
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to share additional details, or if there's anything else we can help you with !

My system specs:
Windows 10
Ryzen 7 2700X
16 GB RAM
RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB
The thing is that I'm not sure if the filtering has anything to do with my hardware at all, or if it is working as intended.
This would have more to do with the VRAM and the HD texture pack, as this is an option that is quite intensive in regards to the GPU dedicated memory.
Does the problem still happen after uninstalling the HD texture pack ?

enable anisotropic filter to 16 X
its right in Nvidia control panel / manage 3d settings
you can set it globally or per game
