Hey Lyszak,
It'd be preferable if they reached out to us too so we can offer more tailored support.
Do they experiencing any errors / crashes / freezes when attempting to save?
Have they attempted any troubleshooting steps such as verifying the game's files[ubi.li] or running the game as an admin[ubi.li]?
- Ubisoft Support
And yes, I verified the game files and tried to run it as an admin. It does not help.
MikChan - I've merged your thread here.
Please could you provide more details as requested above regarding any errors when saving?
Lyszak - please could you have your friend contact us directly via our Support Site[ubi.li] , Facebook[ubi.li] or Twitter[ubi.li] so we can look into this further with them.
Thank you!

1. Disabled the Cloud Save feature in Ubisoft Connect settings
2. Removed the save folder
3. Started the game via Ubisoft Connect, started a new campaign, and kept playing till the first save
4. Closed the game and re-enabled the Cloud Save feature
5. Started the game again and choose to use the local save when prompted
6. Voila, now I can save the game
Seems like the save file might get corrupted and if so, the Ubisoft Connect cloud save feature just uploads it to the cloud and forces it upon you anytime you run a game. And whenever the game receives a corrupted save file, it just refuses to load it properly and subsequently doesn't save the game properly and keeps the old save as corrupted as it was before. And that happens completely silently and there's no way to even get a hint that something is wrong before you stop the game and run it again. It took me 20+ hours of my not-endless life to figure this out (and the fact that the intro cut-scene is unskippable did not help it for sure). This is a major bug, and judging by the number of people on the Internet who have the same problem, you guys on Ubisoft had to handle it years ago instead of just mindlessly giving the advice to run the game as admin which really changes nothing.
What you seem to have encountered was a conflict between your physical save file and cloud save file/options which can sometimes happen in our games, due to Steam having their own cloud saves that might conflict with the Ubisoft Connect cloud save options too.
Thanks for sharing your solution with us in the meantime, to disable and re-enable cloud saves, I will mark your thread as resolved, thank you
