Sorry to hear that you are having issues progressing in the Lost on Mars DLC.
You mentioned a few things that could be the cause of this happening, unable to collect energy cores, unable to interacts with the thermals, unable to find pieces of captain Tubbo. Do you know which one of these it seems is the one actually stopping you from progressing?
Also could you provide some screenshots from the DLC so we can see what is on your screen and if any objectives at all are present.
If you are able to access a map if you can provide an image of that too it would be great.
Thank you.

So, in my vain attempts at getting energy cores to activate things and towers I resorted to cheating this time around, but even the first time I tried this DLC I couldn't progress past more or less this same point.

that is a series of screen shots showing locations and their corresponding map points (for a couple) and that I clearly cannot do anything with them or there is nothing there.
Sorry to hear your progression has stopped around the same place on two separate playthroughs. Thank you for providing those images too!
Would you be able to see if verifying the game's files has any effect for you, in case some files are missing or corrupt?
Many thanks.

I'm sorry to hear that the issue has persisted. If possible would you be able to open a support case with us so we can offer further assistance?
You can reach us either through the support website[support.ubi.com] by opening a live chat session or alternatively through our social media accounts on Facebook[en-gb.facebook.com] and Twitter and they will be able to create a support case for you.
After you've opened the case if I can also ask you to attach two system reports to the case that will assist us in identifying any potential cause. The reports we need from you are:
MSInfo[support.ubisoft.com]
DxDiag[support.ubisoft.com]
Thanks.
