Having the exact same issue but with XBOX 360 Controller. DPad is fine but reverse in vehicle and descend in chopper doesn't work with the LT Trigger. LT Trigger works though when on foot.... Any help to solve this issue would be appreciated.
I mapped the Dpad to the Keyboard Arrows in the Controller Configuration. However I have yet to find a good solution for the Descend button since the pull back stick has no effect on planes and helicopters as they do not use stick for acceleration but instead rely on A which is Ascend. The problem is that Descend, which should be the B button when in Planes and Helicopters is tied by programming to Crouch. You can map the B button to C on the keyboard in the Controller Configuration and that will give you Descend but you lose menu navigation Back ability and skip ability. So you have to back out of menus by hittting the same button that put you in the main menu or the in game menu.
Its wonky but it solves the problem. The other issue those ridiculous Bliss cutscenes you want to Skip. When that happens remapping the B button means you lose Skip ability. I go in to the other room where my PC is located (I'm streaming with a Shield TV) and skip them with the keyboard...except for the ones like meeting faith where they ram that stuff down your throat. Thanks for pulling me out of a good game moment Ubi with your ridiculous drug trips. What idiotic design.
Except you do not realize that for numerous people there is no mapped button for descend. Tons of people are having this issue. You get into the helicopter and it shows your controls automatically on the left side of the screen. You will see the word Descend listed...but no corresponding button. This is happening to thousands of people. Pressing the B button does nothing because the system does not see it as mapped.
He's a fix that worked for me, Xbox One controller, should work for PS4 controllers also.
Different methods of getting there but this is how i got there.
1. Open Big Picture mode
2. Go to Library
3. Click Far Cry 5
4. Click Manage Game
5. Click Controller Settings.
6. Turn Forced Steam Controller settings or something similar to that OFF.
7. Start up Far Cry 5.
8. Enjoy Far Cry 5 from your couch!
Have fun friend.
Thanks for that. I saw that fix on another thread and tried that but unfortunately for me that only fixes the D-Pad issue, not the above mentioned.
This won't help if you are in an airplane or helicopter though.
