ERROR
The Far Cry(R) service is not available. Please try again later. For more information contact http://support.ubisoft.com.
Error: Bookworm-4C7C267C
Not only me, but my bro too. There is no option to connect, only an option to invite via the Uplay overlay. The message above is when trying to enable co-op. No invites get sent.
Both of us have notifications on.
Hey there.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of these issues you're experiencing.
Can I first of all ask whether you're trying to play co-op on the same network on two separate devices?
- Ubisoft Support
I've sent in an assistance form, with very typical Tech Support reply that provided no help as of yet.
To lay down what's what:
We get the same error message with Far Cry: New Dawn.
Both computers are using the same network. Even if one of us has our computers turned off, the other gets that same message about when attempting to enable multiplayer.
Port forwarding has done nothing.
We aren't behind a firewall.
We've exhausted the support page help/faq for help.
We are able to chat fine, and see what each other is playing in UPlay.
The only Uplay game / Steam game I have played multiplayer with my friend was Watch_Dogs which functioned well. This was years ago, though. I have a brand new computer so we've installed the game again to test out if we are able to connect in a multiplayer session. This is just to test if it's UPlay or Far Cry franchise related. I don't have many games on UPlay to test multiplayer out. Since it's late, and I need my friend to get to a point he can be involved in multiplayer matches it may take 1 or 2 days to test this out.
Last game we played together fine was State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition on Steam.
We were able to play fine in Terraria too, also connected through Steam.
To understand how I go about connecting one of two was I have found out of doing it, which may not even be the right way to do it.
When the game loads up, on the main menu there's writing on the bottom saying:
P IN-GAME PARTY.
Pressing "p" tries to connect and results in that error.
The second way is inside the game.
I either go to Map, Inventory or Journal, then click on the Online tab at the top. After I click the giant picture with "Invite Friends"
These lead me to the error message.
Some other issues of note.
To start the games weren't registering as being online available. Neither of us could join the others game (after having completed the tutorial and were told multiplayer was now available). On one occasion it was lit so I could try to join but all that did was load the game up to main menu. My friend tried to join my game while both of us were in a session and there was no confirmation that anything was working, but he got an error.
On two occasions I invited him to play, he got the invite message, then error and we were then no longer able to join or invite because we were already in a session according to the overlay of the join game button in UPlay. We weren't playing together, though.
One occasion I started up my game I was asked if I wanted to enable multiplayer mode. I said yes, but this only returned an error in game.
Also on one occasion I got a bulletin notification at the top of the screen something about maintenance while I was playing.
I cannot play any arcade within Far Cry 5.
I don't know if any of this helps understand any issues.
At the time of writing this my UPlay fails to synchronize achievements while loading up Far Cry 5. That's a first. Only hours ago did it ask if I want to use my Watch_Dogs cloud saves loaded, which I did in place of the saves on my computer.
I bought on UPlay digitally. It was a Far Cry 5 + Far Cry New Dawn bundle.
How's it a pirated game? XD
A lot of people have this problem where they can't play on the same network, I don't think I've seen somebody resolve that tho.
I resolved my original issue (bookworm one) by getting a new contract from my Internet Provider, new router etc. Now it works, but nothing from ubisoft's support side ever worked.
The only thing I can advise is to get a second router/network set up, maybe then You will be able to connect.
An update.
My bro says Far Cry 3 multiplayer servers work for him. So it's not the entire franchise. I don't have that game to test it.
