Reinstalling

Game was working fine, then for no apparent reason, I had 23 files that needed reinstalling. It was looping in varification for hours and hours. I uninstalled, and attempted to reinstall. Now, I get an error message of a "content file locked". The location given refers to a file in the DirectX folder. I have no idea how to get installation to complete now.

Just updated video driver, Steam has been refreshed, etc.

Could you provide us with the full error that you are getting? This will help us to look into this.

I'd also advise verifying the game files, which will check for any corrupt and missing files. You can do this through the steps here

It's also worth heading to the DirectX folder and running the setup file.

An error occurred while updating Far Cry 5 (content file locked):
H:\Steam Games\steamapps\common\FarCry5\Support\Software\DirectX\Feb2006_dsdx9_29_x86.cab

I just verified the integritty of game files, and almost immediately, it said the files are 100% validated.
