Can followers and animals get in cars?

Might be a dumb qeustion but I'm just not srue on how to get followers in teh car with me if you even can do that. Or like Boomer can't sit in the backseat? thanks

I've had them drive cars of their own will but never get in mine

Yes. They can get in your car, they will priotise weapon seats if it exists though. They can also get into/onto their own vehicle if one is nearby and you start driving off on them.

Thanks so how do I get them in my car? Or r they supposed to get in automatically? and what about boomer?

They do it automatically. It's not a perfect system. In a van, more often than not they'll get in the back for me for some reason, opposed to the passenger seat. If they don't get in within a few seconds, or attempt to, make sure there is room and/or get out for a few seconds and get back in.

No, Fang's "run" behind you I believe. They might even teleport to be closer if you're gaining speed away from him, not sure - but you can always hold G and summon them to you if they're not with you when you get where you're going.
