Lost Money/Perk Points Bug

So I don't know exactly what happened but I'll try to explain it the best I can.

Bug: Upon Fast Traveling or leaving a mission, the game will revert back to a previous state. This results in losing money or perk points spent on upgrades/weapons PERMANENTLY. The upgrades will be reverted and the player will no longer have them, but the perk points/money used to buy the upgrades will be gone.
Area Bug Observed in: John Seed's Region but possibly active in other regions.
Attempted Fixes: Restarting the game.

So far there is no workaround so my big warning to everyone who might try to fast travel or do ANYTHING during a mission is to just wait until the mission is completed. I don't believe this bug occurs anywhere but when you are on a mission.

It only resets what was gained during the mission.

This may be part of a design to avoid farming points or money from a certain mission.

Do you see this with all missions or just specific ones?

All missions. I've tried it with two seperate ones in case I had made a mistake but it was definitely all missions.

I don't think it's part of a design to avoid farming anything. I literally LOST perk points and money from buying something and then fast traveling. Those are perk points I can't get back because I got them from challenges and money that I've just lost. I didn't get the perk I purchased or the upgrades I bought, so if I want them I have to buy them again which means I have to go grind out more challenges just to get the perk points again. It's rather annoying because I've bought the same perk three times now before I figured out what was going on.

EDIT: Maybe I'm not explaining it well enough.

If I had to liken it to something, it's like putting money into a vending machine to get an item. But when the item drops down and you grab it, it instantly teleports back into the vending machine, requiring that you buy it again. But this time you don't have the money you did before so you have to cough up MORE money.

i had the same exact bugg but i was helping a friend to finish some main quest on his game and a the end of a mission we went fast travel at nearest camp and after the loading i realised that my weapon wheel had only 2 slot unlocked so i open my perk menu lost all my point and everything is locked . i go check the weapon vendor same thing and same thing fo all my vehicule , plane , boat .

Are perk points finite? How do I recover lost perk points? Been busting my rear to get them from the listed challenges. But I just lost 9 perk points on a skill when I fast traveled shortly after it. I am beyond upset right now, this means I will be short perk points to get all skills? What gives! What can we do!

The only way I see to get perk points is to complete challenges that once you complete them you cant repeat them. Or find magazines but once you pick them up they are gone. Are there repeatable ways to get perk points that never end? Or am I short these points forever, and even worse for the OP who sounds like he lost points quite a few times till he realized what was going on. Please help Ubi?

If the perk points are finite, can a fix not be implemented where the game assesses what challenges you have completed, what magazines are no longer existing on the map because they were picked up, make a total of how many perk points you should have and compare to how many are currently spent and not spent and correct any discrepancies by giving you back any it finds are missing? Should be simple math right?

Why the hell haven't you fixed this bug?? I was just doing the mission where you have to destroy satellites, spent a point to get the grapple hook, fell and died and when I respawned I didn't have the grapple hook ability and ALSO lost the skill point that I spent!

I know that far cry 5 is old, and fc6 was JUST announced. but going around the internet, and seeing this bug reported multiple times over the years, and it still not being fixed. is intolerable from my point of view. i was 2/3 in on faith's region while having already beat john seed. so having to start over sucks badly.

ya i dont have any of my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ guns or vehicles or anything i have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ perks at all this is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.. (im sorry for my language but this is unacceptable. mind you this is with a save of 77 hours on it and i had a crap ton of weapons and vehicles and perks now i have none

It has just happened to me for the second time in FC5. It is just unacceptable to have such a game breaking bug still not fixed. I almost had my story finished when this happened, first time when I quit during a mission, second time when playing arcade with a friend. Shame on you Ubisoft, I have over 200 hours on this game and I would have much more but this is just so frustrating. People have been reporting this since launch, now it's 2022 and still not fixed....
