Problem with Ubisoft open worlds is that they go for quantity over quality. And even then most of that quantity is copy pasted, like attacking bases.
They could make something amazing if they took development time to focus on quality instead of releasing for the sake of releasing.
Yes it's gotten worse. That's the point. All your criticisms of ubiconic open worlds are valid but this version is still better than what came after.
Far Cry 6 is a hug downgrade from Far Cry 5. The Supremo is basically an "I win" button, Arcade mode and the ability to create your own maps has been cut out, and you no longer earn skills by playing the game. Instead of a skill tree, Far Cry 6 has a cash shop full of gear which simply grants all the skills you used to earn in the skill tree by actually playing the game.
Far Cry 6 is just a cynical hub for microtransactions. That's why they don't dare release it on a platform with user-reviews.
3 just gets a pass for being first.
The reason they did it is to push people to buy the gear in the cash shop. They basically just made the game more pay-to-win.
After playing Far Cry 5, I hoped Far Cry 6 would be better. After experiencing the incredibly insidious "dark patterns" engineered into Far Cry 6, I want Ubisoft to shut down and never make another game again.
Also, the story, setting and character design were very poor too in FC6. Making the overall experience boring, with nothing to motivate the player.
