Does anyone have 7800X3D and their CPU is melting????

pcgamingwiki does state that the game has an issue with x3d cpus running at full load and getting real hot

the solution is to alter windows power management profile to 99% on the cpu

probably could use process lasso aswell to do something similar

Go to power settings (the old settings window from earlier windows) -> Advanced -> CPU energy settings and limit the "max CPU power limit" (or whatever it is called in english) to 99%. This prevents your CPU from constantly boosting the frequency to the max.
Seems to be some sort of bug

And no, its not a joke. And the solution I did not discover but found it idk where. But I can tell you, it works also in 2025! Try it and give feedback.

Giving this a try now, thanks! Was wondering about my processor's performance with some games, constantly maxing out the pump and fan RPMs and running at 70C and up just to maintain 60fps. I've done the method of disabling the smaller L3 cache and the physical cores associated with it, but that usually resulted in (slightly) higher temps if anything.

Using an R9 7950X3D, 4070 Ti, and 64Gb DDR5 at 6,000Mhz.

May not be relevant but I was having stuttering issues and temps were running hot when I first started playing FC5 and using the map editor. Ended up being that the game was using my integrated GPU instead of my Nvidia card. Even though in Nvidia Control Panel I had manually set to use the Nvidia card.

I fixed it by a solution found online where I had to change a single setting in one of the game's config files. I followed these instructions on Reddit:

i have an i9 14900k with a 360mm watercooler and I'm suffering the same thing...
this is the only game/program I see take my cpu to 80/90 degrees, I'm having to play with my case open.
