Turn down your graphics a bit.

Well, it could be because your system needs to be cleaned (dust build up can do that) or you just need thermal re-paste. My gtx 1070 runs at 50c with settings at the max.

Yes good point, but as far as thermal paste goes, if they have to do that, then it needs to back to the manufacturer if under warranty, doing it yourself will void your warranty.

All my other games are fine, Its just Far Cry 5, I think it is a very demanding game on GPU.

Like i mentioned, you may have to play around with the graphic settings and see how that goes.

It can also be air flow etc.

If your cooling is fine, you can run your gpu 100% and it should not overheat. I recently bought a new case, thought i was great. Thermals are fine. I then put the side on...jesus wept the temps went through the roof while playing certain games, so I need to keep the side off or as I plan too install more fans.

Get your pc checked shouldn't be anything expensive if replacement is needed.
Far cry 5 isn't demanding for me I got 6 coolers and liquid cooling .

That's not telling jdickens anything, they already said its only FC5 they have an overheating issue with, if the card runs fine, there is no reason to get the "whole" pc ?, checked out, that could cost a couple of hundred bucks.

Putting up the graphics they are playing at would be a good idea, or should i say trying to play at.

So what's your graphics card, if its not demanding for you ?.

The point is, if your cooling is working fine, you should be able to run the gpu at 100%. Its most likely the op does not have any other games as demanding as fc5. a game cannot push a gpu beyond its hardware limits.

Therefore if he has overheating issues, its down to cooling/airflow etc.

For instance I know I have some cooling issues, with my case side off I can play fc5 fine, my temps are actually rather low. I put the side on, within 30 mins I have temperature issues, blue screens, crashing, hardware locks. Its a bad case for air flow. (I may need extra fans)

Its not the game directly causing the issue, its not the gpu directly. Its a cooling issue. No hardware should overheat with its stock heatsinks, unless you are overclocking or have airflow issues.

The cooling on the gpu should be more than good enough at stock levels, but its clearly not getting enough airflow as its overheating. Maybe bad cable management, maybe a case fan is on the wrong way round, maybe like mine its a bad case design (seriously thinking instead of more fans, just getting better case myself, though its running fine with the side off to be fair.....(basically I am too lazy to swap all the insides over :p)

You really should not have too many issues with a 2060, they normally do not run too hot, it has to be like mine, down to your case and airflow.

The other thing to do, would be to lower your detail levels, so your gpu is doing less work, therefore will heat up less, however you might find the heat still builds up if it has nowhere to go.

@jdickens, i know what your graphics card is, i was asking the person saying FC5 isn't demanding for them, if they've got a real top card of course it isn't going to be demanding for them.

I'd suggest Ceejay's idea as well, checking your fans, how many do you have ?, hold your hand over the outside and see how much air flow you can feel.

The other games you play, are they as demanding as FC5 ?

You know you haven't told anyone what resolution you're trying to play at as well, if you're trying 4K, you're pushing it with the 2060 and yes it will heat up.

Like i said earlier, try dropping the graphics down and see how you go.

I'm really pedantic about my case and the insides, i regularly dust it with a can of compressed air.

PS...... i use this program/app for my monitoring

I got a rx580 and it hardly goes above 70 on ultra

80 maybe be high for your GPU, but is far from damaging. My 1080Ti runs upper 80's with this game, and no problems since the game came out. I have 1220 hours on this game alone.
