New to game: How to use specialist abilities?

Hi, sorry first time trying this game, and I have searched and searched and found a whole bunch of information on WHAT the special abilities are and when to use them etc. - but nothing on HOW to actually get specialists to use their special abilities.

I would like to call a chopper with Adelaide Drubman - I have tried looking through the binos and pressing 'G' and she just attackes with her machine gun. How do I command her to call a chopper?

she only summon in a heli once you summon her into your team. She'll show up piloting a heli. If she already on the ground, she'll fight with her gun. If there is a heli with gun mounted nearby, she might get in and use that instead of fight on foot. You might want to dismiss her then wait until time expire then summon her when you are about to attack the outpost. She'll be showing up in a heli.

Thanks for the reply. Is this similar with Peaches - will the mountain lion silently take down enemies on its own?

If you are already in battle, your companions will fight of course. But if you are not yet in a fight, you need to direct your companion to kill someone by pointing them at an enemy. I use a controller and I had to use the D-pad to do this. You should look online or in options for key bindings for whatever controls you are using. Also, I think if you look at enemies through your binoculars, the key you need to press to tell a companion to move or attack pops up on screen.
