still requires to force turn off steam input in big picture mode first in order for it to work though since steam input overrides it. After that however, I can just play the game as normal, also not required to be in big picture anymore, but with some extra inputs like having mouse control with the touchpad, but it's all customizable. unlike in-game which has no controller settings customization at all. suck my tainthole ubisoft, but then again they don't even care enough to fix this obviously prevalent issue years later...
you can also just
>right click on far cry 5 >and in properties >controller >override for far cry 5 >turn off steam input (then use a third party controller emulation software)
Anyway if there is a generic software compatible for yours, that might work out better as you can simply remap rather than emulate which in my view can be tricky, but if you got it going, ok your done, PLAY.
My biggest problem was the console and inability to swap sticks in many games because I like the "move" stick on my right thumb. PC gaming with this controller that has been non issue across the many games I have used, which along with mods is why I abandoned games on the console (it is a good heavyweight DVD player though).
After reading about it, I find no use for it it since evrything works already and I use my controller on GOG games, old DVD installs UPLAY etc,
I have a xinput controller which every other game supports when claiming partial support.
I have ps4 controllers which are only alive because they were good as pc controllers. (they still are, mine was ps4 original and now loose and such)
I have played far cry 5 many times with said controllers, but I cant remember the witchdoctor stuff I had to do to get it work. Im getting old waiting for ubisoft to fix their stuff, as probably the original staff is too.
