they ended years ago back in 2019

a) The "live events", which ended 6 months after release (which is what the above poster is talking about, although they ended in late 2018, not 2019). They took place inside the main campaign mode, and required the players to contribute towards community goals.
There were various outfits and weapon skins as rewards.
b) "Weekly challenges". These went on much longer and took place in arcade mode. Each week you had 2-3 objectives, such as to complete X number of x type of arcade maps (Outpost/Journey etc), or kill enemies with x type of weapon. Some of these required co-op.
The rewards were: In-game money, perk points and silver bars.
However even these have ended now as well.
As mentioned above, all rewards, as well as unreleased weapons/outfits etc are available via the resistance mod.
