Spoilers here. worst ending of all the games.
Second time playing. didn't finish final mission first time due a distraction. Just finished it. every far cry game has a bad ending usually involving the lesser of two evils. This one did not, it just ended bad.

Not only that, every game except FC1 is somewhat possible. FC2 was horrible warlord situation in Africa. FC3 was weird situation with remote South Pacific island. FC4 was based on Tibet. FC6 is Cuba's fight against Castro family.

FC5 was based on the nutty doomsday preppers and christian militias plaguing rural America since the 2000s.

BUT!!!... NO ONE got nuked. this is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥ final. and there was no win in this game. You can suspend disbelief for everything ridiculous in a video game, but you can't suspend overlook the United Stated being nuked and only the protagonist and the antagonist survive. That's a stupid ending.

Someone told me to finish the game, as it explains Joseph Seed and has a connection to FC3. There is no connection, and everyone dies for no reason. ♥♥♥♥ this game, and ♥♥♥♥ the next Far Cry. You lost a costumer, and maybe I mean it.

I just finished the game and I have to admit I was also very disappointed. The story punishes you for using logic pretty much the whole way through.

I enjoyed the gameplay as I do with all Far Cry games, but the stories are all feel bad stories. I finished 3 and 4 as well and was left annoyed and frustrated with all of them.

In summary, Everything about Far Cry is awesome except the main storylines.

Also worth mentioning that I HATED the inescapable capture scenes that take away your control. Really the worst thing I've experienced in the series.

While FC6 has a somewhat surprise ending, it leaves us with an anything can happen ending.

FC5 just leaves with and end of the world no matter what you do.

Me too. Get the Resistance mod, it gets rid of them, and has loads of other options also.

No, not the worst.
In Cyberpunk, the ending is even dumber.

Spoiler:
"Far Cry: New dawn" contains the real ending for FC5 and answers a lot of questions. ;-)
Those two games belong together.

Far cry New Dawn contains a finger tip grasp at bringing back people like me. Not gonna spend My money on it. Give it to me free if it is some form of redemption.

People are to critical of games and movies that did an excellent job, compared to the ones that did a horrible job.

Other then Skyrim, Fallout 4, Witcher 3, X Series, and GTA games I have rarely found myself replaying a game, especially an UBISoft game. Farcry 5 and new dawn are fun, Farcry 5 more so.

With that said Faith is flying around and mind thumping people if you hadn't noticed lol, Lucifer is yanking people out of choppers by playing the platters  , john is carving pieces of spam out of peoples chest and they aren't bleeding to death and also shooting people with bliss bullets that are flying at 10,000 feet in the air. Joseph Seed has the ability to suck snot back up into his nose with the power of a tornado.

It's not meant to be realistic it's meant to be fun and crazy.

I don't think. Any people can say you "Hey, it's game unstoryble and silent storyline", but Only You can find the truth. We need look at that from faith side and spiritual things, match a point and thinking "What's that, really something difficult for my mind, it's not Far Cry 3 where bad charachter just jumped and kill everyone because he's insane". Far Cry 5 - game with really hide point and difficult things, where you have to find true yourself and truth story. For that have other people and guide with different opinions and things, if you wanna see on this game from other side. That's because i wrote guide about Main Story. Maybe it's can help people find the truth and walk the path.

I just finished Far Cry: New Dawn after playing Far Cry 5.
So , my opinion is this. Far Cry 5's ending was disappointing to me as well -- not just because of the nukes but

***SPOILER**

After single-handedly taking down the cult, you end the game with Dutch dead, and handcuffed in a bunker with Joseph-- this is considered the "good ending"
.. The good ending. You know, the one where the Sheriff and all of your allies from the intro to the game, all dead. And you're in the clutches of the main villain, and the world ends. -- Sorry what?

**SPOILER TWO**

THEN.. In Far Cry: New Dawn you found out the Deputy survived with Joseph Seed, but Joseph managed to convert the Deputy into a Peggy (Now, the New Edeners)
As you might already know, The Judge is the protagonist from Far Cry 5 -- wearing a mask and having no distinctive voice.
And there is no follow up to this -- Joseph is literally like "Here, take the Judge. Their only language is violence"

I guess I had the good ending? Not new dawn. Haven't dropped for that (yet).
Played all the far crys in order of release - up to 5. The ending of FC5 was always going to be grim, just based one the whole premise. DD Prepper cults. Not much of a dental plan.

There is nothing to say a story has to have a happy ending. :p

Though I know what you are saying, given what we find out in New Dawn, we never actually win the first game so to speak. (it is also how I felt about mass effect 3's endings)

Retcon New Dawn. It's hot garbage.

Far Cry 5 has a dark foreboding ending (somewhat open to personal interpretation), but that's cool.
Some people can't handle it, but that's their problem. The rest of us can enjoy it.

In my opinion, Far Cry 5 has the best story as it doesn't make clear if Joseph Seed is the bad or good guy.

Far Cry 6 DLC does pretty well explain a lot of missed background and motivations of Joseph Seed.

"Spoilers"
-Joseph Seed did try to warn people, he did not have the intention to harm people.
-In fact, the only reason why people did survive is deputy, without him those 3 crazy family members would have had killed all the other survivors in their bunkers.

Far Cry New Dawn does pretty well show, that despite all the sacrifices, he is not happy what he had to do and about the outcome.

I would say it's a very good tragic hero arc.

Except Joseph knew who his family was and what they were capable of and did nothing to stop it, he clearly had the intention of harming anyone who was not a follower.

He was not a peaceful man at all. Now maybe overall he was trying to save some people, but he went about it completely wrong.
