(Gtx 1080) . It means it something with your hardware, settings etc etc, not the game. FC5 is less demanding than wildlands and AC origins.
No no no
I don't care about benchmarks from some site.
I had an old PC with an i7 4770k and GTX 1070 and it performed fine but performancein Ubisoft games and ONLY ubisoft games was terrible.
Now this PC is quite new, two months old. There is nothing wrong with it.
I play PC games for almost 25 years, and my drivers are up to date. I don't need people telling me that my PC has a problem. It can't be my PC because it performs as it should in other games.
Nah its just typical industry BS.
People say you can't play games in 4K with a GTX 1080 but I played Dirt 2 maxed out in 4K with a GTX 770.
Then a new console and GPU generation comes out and suddenly games that look barely any better require absurd amount of hardware to run even in 1080p.
I played Metro Last Light maxed out in 1080p with a GTX 770 ffs and got almost 60fps. And here you try to tell me its ok that a 1080 which is like 5 times more powerful can barely run games that look worse? (admittedly have open world but still).
Where's DX12 btw? Or Vulcan? Its another DX11 game apparently.
I can already give you a forecast. The RTX series will come and a year later or so Far Cry 6 and the 1080 will barely be able to play that anymore but it will run on an Xbox.
I'll come back to this and name a few soon. When its not work its the family keeping me busy. I don't have many games in the head atm.
MGSV comes to mind but its a bit old by now. Still looks pretty damn good. Runs in 4K maxed out with well over 60fps.
Red Faction Guerilla Remaster also comes to mind but thats an older game that got remastered.
State of Decay 2 but I play it on my Xbox One X.
Final Fantasy XV but I play it on my Xbox One X.
My good old Stalker comes to mind, especially with the Call of Chernobyl mod.
Oh Metro Exodus comes to mind but it isn't out yet.
Homefront comes to mind but thats an unoptimised mess.
I am reluctant to name Destiny 2 but I guess it would count.
Hunt: Showdown comes to mind.
The Deus Ex games come to mind.
You have to compare Open World games to other Open World games. Its not fair to compare it to one with small levels.
In Far Cry 5 the character models look like they're from a 6 year old game or older. The cars could be 8 years old. The guns of Call of Duty Ghosts look better than what we get here.
Also Far Cry 5 has close to no PhysX or "Levolution" going on. So why does it eat up that many ressources? It can't be the spreading fire either, thats no better than what it did in Far Cry 2 except for better flame textures/particles or whatever they use. It isn't technically more advanced in any way.
Crysis 2 is 7 years old by now and with the HD textures looks about equal to Far Cry 5 and I played that too with a 770.

i have no problem getting 60 with my rig in FC 5 and a GTX 1060 with a OC i 5 7600 K
i also use older Nvidia drivers tho and play in 1080 P .. yea GTX 1080 is a decent card .. but i think your gonna need a second one if you wanna max your settings in FC 5 ..
use the in game benchmark tool
lower things like shadows .. first ..you wont notice it much by lower them just a bit to get better FPS .
tweak a bit to find the best settings for your system
if your looking for 4 k game play .. yea your gonna need 2 1080 's in SLI
it even says that in the read me file the game installed on your PC
dunno why your having probs with 1440 P tho
even hardocp just recently benched the game an got decent results on a GTX 1080

Maybe you should watch the video. He's playing it with many settings at medium, also those settings at High would go all the way to Very High and then Ultra.
I never claimed that a 1060 could not play AC Origin on medium in 1080p with any less than 60fps. Frankly its rather shocking how poor that GPU performs considering its equal to a 980 in performance and in price to a PS4.
It also shows very well how the amount of VRAM is unimportant. It barely fills 2GB so even 3 or the 4 of the 980 would suffice. Barely any game was able to fill my 1070 up to 4GB.
But all that fake media is telling you all to go buy a 8GB card or even better an 11GB card.
hell on my Giabyte GTX 1060 i have everything on high or ultra .. i'm not even hitting 3 gig of V ram ..
you wanna hit more v ram use play in 4 k ..but your FPS will tank on a single GTX 1080
they leave head room for the next GPU series so the games do not go stale
they did the same with FC 3 and 4
heck i remember when FC 3 shipped ..i had a top of the line Nvidia GPU in 2012 ..it sucks compared to my GTX 960 in that game .. and my GTX 1060 plays it even better
i do not think Ubi makes games just to based to run on whats out now ...at max settings is what i'm saying .. they leave a lil headroom in the engine ..and try to optimize toward future GPU's and hardware a lil bit .. if you wanna max out the game and all its settings see the read me file on your hard disk .. to play in 4 k 60 FPS it says crossfire vega's or gtx 1080 ti's
and again 1440 P should be no problem with a single GTX 1080
(once you adjust your settings correctly )
i can show ya other benchmarks HARD OCP recently did on FC 5
https://www.hardocp.com/article/2018/07/25/nvidia_gpu_generational_performance_part_1/16
here they are getting a min of 75 FPS with FC 5 on a single GTX 1080 in 1440 P
https://www.pcgamer.com/far-cry-5-settings-and-benchmarks/
I have a GTX 970 and get 50-60 fps at 1440p. Here's what I use:
- texture filtering: ultra
- shadows: normal (this one is usually nasty)
- geometry & vegetation: low
- environment: normal
- water: low
- terrain: normal
- volumetric fog: low
- anti-aliasing: SMAA
- motion blur: off
- vsync: off (I have g-sync)
- framerate lock: off
- dynamic resolution: off
- resolution scale: 1
Just play around with the settings and run the built in benchmark until you get what you want.
The reason those games run well on consoles is because the developers chose them for you on these platform. We have more settings on the PC version but that doesn't mean we have to put everything to ultra and then complain because "it's not optimized". All that complaining will just make the developers end up renaming "normal" to "ultra" and be happy.
The dunia engine is perfectly fine and well optimized.
Zapek you should really consider going down to 1080p so you can increase many of the settings. Especially geometry & vegetation. The game has got to look hideous for you.
Volumetric fog is indeed a setting that eats lots of performance for no big gain in fidelity. Also I don't have the shadow setting maxed out its down one notch. Motion Blur is disabled too.
Shadows is a very nasty setting in GTA V and Wildlands.
used the following vid cards PERSONALLY here
AMD HD 7750 1 gig GPU
GTX 750 ti
AMD R 9 270 2 gig GPU
ASUS strix gtx 960 2 gig model GPU
gigabyte GTX 1060 6 gig card
Ah that was in the first days when it released. It was quite the wreck. Far more so than Watchdogs if you remember that one. It got patched quite quickly.
Watchdogs still has the graphical error from back in the day. They gave it away for free. Too bad that you can see shadows and light and stuff through walls in it due to a bug. I remember that pirates fixed that in the pirated version within weeks of release xDDD
