The "prestige" version contains a skin that the basic version lacks, that's why you pay many times more. It also works as a separate and independent version of the basic weapon, with its own attachments. So you can have the same weapon added twice to the loadout with different attachments as well, not that it justifies paying that much in any case, lol.
I'm already bored of this game because of the lack of gunplay... 90% of the enemies use the same AR & all the guns feel bland over time...
A title thats suppose to be in the USA sure does lack the weapon arsenal the rest of the world believes we pack...
I agree. I'm pretty upset by the lack of guns, i mean i have more guns in my house than this entire game
You know this is ad infinitum, do you?
"If they added an MP-40, Why nota Thompson? If they added the tommy, why not an M1 Garand? If they added the Garand, why not a Mosin-Nagant?"
People will never, ever, be happy with what they got.
That buddy has nothing to do with my issues I posted above... Go check out the wiki pages for FC3 & FC4 you can see that FC5 lacks so many weapons compared to the previous titles its a fact not "ad infinitum"...
Dude all i'm saying is the game is based in Montana, USA....
Why the hell would they have an MP-40 instead of an American WW2 smg?
And sorry on-topic I don't see really any point in buying the exspenisve skin guns unless you just like the paint job.
Because fiction?
Sorry, son, but you completely missed the point.
I'll spare you the effort of thinking it over, because you appear to be a little ignorant. The point is: you will keep asking for stuff until you are happy with the product, but the problem is, you won't, never, be. One thing leads to another, and if any developer keeps fulfilling individual expectations such as yours, instead of focusing on the greater numbers, no product would be ever released to the market.
If the feature you look for in a game is gun variety, you are looking at the wrong place.
Yeah I'm the one who's ignorant...
By the way the point is that I'm not asking for anything. I love the game the way it is. Yes the lack of weapons is a bit sad, but I still enjoy the game tremendously. Again all I was saying is why in Montana would there be a German Mp-40 instead of some type of American SMG?
I see now you are not just a little ignorant, but also pretty stupid to take two sentences out of their original context to conjecture something you think makes any sense. How about keeping logical here, is that so hard? Refrain from using fallacies if that is not asking too much.
Again, if it is not clear yet: the product will always lack something if you do not limit yourself to what the game offers.
Because the game designers thought it would be cool to add german, or even russian guns (don't forget kalashnikovs have been in the series ever since Far Cry 2) to the game, so to give a little variety to the weapon options, perhaps?
the old M 1 garand was not an SMG
\
also yea i do admit i'd rather have a tompson then an MP 40 ..but the thompson was also not an SMG as its big and heavy .. they are fun to fire in real life too (my buddie used to have one )
but the old ww 2 grease guns .. in 45 ACP were really inaccurate ..so kinda glad they went with the MP 40 9 mm

Civilian ownership
United States
Following the Allied occupation of Europe in 1945, U.S. servicemen shipped home thousands of captured firearms as war trophies,[20] including MP 40s. This practice required proper registration of automatic weapons in accordance with the National Firearms Act before they could be imported, but this was curtailed later in the occupation, meaning a relatively small number of civilian-transferable MP 40 remain in circulation and are valued around $15,000 as of 2017.[21]
There are several semi-automatic variants and cosmetic replicas of the MP 40 available for civilian ownership in the U.S. Beginning in 2014, American Tactical Imports began importing a MP 40 replica manufactured by German Sporting Guns GmbH chambered in .22LR,[22] and since 2016 has also imported a pistol variant chambered in 9mm.[23] The .22LR variant features an all-metal construction with period-accurate Bakelite furniture, a folding stock, and a faux-suppressor to meet barrel length import requirements. The 9mm variant is classified as a pistol and therefore does not ship with a folding stock. Both variants are closed-bolt, blowback-operated semi-automatic firearms that vary substantially from originally manufactured MP 40s in internal operations, making them more of affordable cosmetic replicas than faithful reproductions. Neither of the GSG-manufactured variants are compatible with originally manufactured MP 40 parts and magazines.[citation needed]
The Kalashnikov was and still is one of the most mass produced weapons in the world so obviously that's why it's in just about EVERY game that has firearms. The Mp-40 being as famous as it is and wildly produced still seems a bit off for a back woods county in Montana to have instead of some WW2 Die hard americans Thompson SMG. Again I love the game and the Mp-40, but just doesnt fit.
It fires a .45 acp and can fire it full auto. It's a SMG
